Initial Consultation

During the initial consultation, we will determine your exact needs for the ADU and your vision for the space - do you need it for your parents, a child, or do you envision renting it for additional income? Or do you want to rent your main residence and live in the ADU? All of these things will help us to work together to come up with a customized plan for the space that will work perfectly for you and your family.

Design

Dennis is a seasoned and experienced designer with a degree in Architecture. He will develop the ADU’s design based upon your vision until agreement is reached by all those involved. When you are completely satisfied with the design of your ADU, the drawings will be prepared.

Drawings

When the design has been finalized, detailed architectural drawings will be prepared, including structural, electrical, and plumbing. Dennis will meet with you and carefully review the drawings in detail, and answer any questions you may have, and if needed, modify the drawings to your satisfaction, until you are confident that the proposed Accessory Dwelling Unit will meet your needs. When you are ready, he will proceed to the next step, which is obtaining the necessary permits.

Permitting

When the drawings are finalized, Dennis will submit the plans to the appropriate government agency (City or County), and will work closely with the planner(s) to obtain permits. Dennis has many years of experience dealing with governmental agencies to obtain building permits for construction projects, and he has developed solid relationships with local agencies, and has an excellent reputation.

Approval

You will be notified right away when the necessary permits have been issued, and a mutually amenable construction timeline will be determined. Cost projections will be prepared and submitted for your approval, along with a contract. NOTE: We are fully licensed, bonded and insured.
