Dennis Story, Principal
Dennis Story is a lifelong advocate for sustainable, community-based housing and transportation solutions.
A licensed contractor since 1985, Dennis owned and operated Expert Home Inspection before earning his bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Kansas State University.
He is a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) through the National Association Home Builders (NAHB), a member of the Measure A Citizens’ Oversight Committee, chair of Coastal Rail Now, and a board member with RailPAC.
In October 2018, Dennis received the Barry Siegel Award for “lifelong advocacy of commuter rail to connect the cities of Oxnard, Ventura, Santa Barbara and Goleta” from the Coalition for Sustainable Transportation (COAST).
Present at the event were US Congressman Salud Carbajal (D-CA 24th), State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson (D-Santa Barbara), representatives from the Santa Barbara County Association of Governments (SBCAG), Santa Barbara Mayor Cathy Murillo and Goleta Mayor Paula Perotte.
As a hobby, Dennis rehabilitates homes with his wife, Peggy, from their home base in Santa Barbara, California.
